The Schöniger flask combustion method is used to prepare samples for elemental analysis. The sample is combusted in an oxygen-filled flask, and the resulting products are absorbed into a solution for subsequent analysis by techniques such as titration or ion chromatography. It is suitable for determining elements such as chlorine, bromine, iodine, sulfur and phosphorus at percentage and trace levels
